Monday 9th March 09
On Monday's lesson I was given the audiences' response to our thriller. There were many positive comments such as using good camera work angles and effective use of non-digetic sounds. There was hardly any negative main points which i am pleased to know, this tells me that we did a great job working in a group on this project. These audience feedback sheet is meant to help on our evaluation which is due on 25th March 2009 and must be posted on the Blog.

Monday 2nd March!x
In today's lesson we were told that all our films were on a website called Vimeo and were told how to get on to it and how to view all of the openings. We were also informed about the evaluation of our opening sequence which is the last piece of work for this unit and that next Thursday we were going to see the opening sequences from everyone in As in the cinema at chap, VUE. After a lot of talking with Tony we had to go and upload our film onto blogger.
Overall i am pleased with the way which this practical work has been produced. My group worked very well together and we all helped cooperate into the making of our short story. I am excited to get some class/ year feedback of our film when we go cinema as i would like to know what people actually think of our film. Fingers crossed its good!

Friday 27th Feb Workshop;; Editing Deadline!x
Today was the editing deadline and i have never seen the computer rooms so packed. Me and Lauren had turned up to put the soundtrack onto our film in order to finish it. We listened over the soundtrack, which Vikki and Bien had created in workshop yesterday (Thurs 26Th Feb), and were thrilled to see that they had put the scream into the footage perfectly. (it fitted in with the actions and facial expressions which Lauren was doing.) Once we had put our soundtrack on our film we asked Micky and Andrew to watch it and see if it was OK. After their approval we saved it as our final edit and disconnected our hard drive, took it back to the technicians room and signed the bored to say that we had FINISHED!
Wednesday 25th Feb Workshop.
After our lesson today, me, Vikki, Bien, and Lauren stayed behind in workshop and carried on editing our soundtrack.
After looking through the files on Soundtrack thoroughly we as a group decided that we needed to record a scream as the ones already on the system didn't fit the scene. Me and Lauren went and got a camera and battery and found an empty classroom which we could record screams. Once we had finished in the classroom we listened back on the screams and thought there was something missing, due to this we went into the toilet to gain more of an echo and done this experiment again. When we played these screams back they sounded much more convincing that we actually filmed them in the same location.
We then went back to Vikki & Bien, who had been continuing editing our soundtrack and began to log and capture the screams we had recorded. Once log and captured we listened over them as a group and tried to insert the ideal one into our sequence, it wasn't working properly so we left it and continued in soundtrack. We inserted a heartbeat by the end of our short film to help build tention.

Wednesday 25th February Editing Lesson!x
In today's lesson we carried on editing from where we left off in workshop. We finished off adding slugs in our sequence then entered Live Type, a programme that you can make your film credits on, and started to do so. We still didn't have a 'proper title' for our film so Andrew came up with an idea to give us a dictionary so we could come up with one. After 20 minutes of putting random words together, Rashpul came up with the name 'Mortal Remains' which sounded perfect for our film and so it stuck.
We also made some scenes shorter as they seemed to make more sense and looked better. The main shot which we cut down is the mirror shot of Lauren fixing her make up. The camera was rather shakey which ruined the footage, so we cut it down enough to not see this. Not only did we do this but we took out the ripple effect between the flush and the mirror scene as it looked 'fake' and took away suspense.
Once we were happy with how our film looked, we exported it into Soundtrack where we started to mess around with different effects and sounds.

Tuesday 24th February; Editing Workshop.
Today Me, Lauren, Vikki and Bien met up, come workshop and continued to edit our opening sequence. Once we were satisfied in the way we had put the sequence together we started to insert slugs which are black 'canvases' which we arre going to put our titles/ credits onto.
